How is Tack Force Measured?

To measure the tack force of our adhesives, we use a Polyken Probe Tack Tester. This easy to use machine tests tack force by determining the maximum force that is needed to break the bond of the adhesive. This highly accurate reading allows us to clearly define each product’s tack force.

A Strong Tack

Despite what some might think, you don’t always want the highest tack force possible. A sticky tack isn’t ideal for all situations. For example, an adhesive that is used for a more stable application would likely need to be more breathable, with a lower tack force. Knowing the appropriate tack force for your product is essential for quality medical outcomes.
